a) Dr. A.K. Dash is taking part to prepare an exhaustive dictionary prepared by Orissa Bhasa Pratisthan, Bhubaneswar.
b) Dr. P.Rath has working as a consultant in Central Institute of Language Study,Mysore.
c) The department is helping the Govt. of Orissa in preparing official Language (Legislative).
d) Dr. A.K Dash has been a member of the UGC Expert committee for minor and major research project.
e) Prof. K.R.Panigrahi and Dr. A.K.Dash are the consultants of a major project ‘SAMBAD SAHITYA KOSHA’ (Encyclopedia of Oriya literature undertaken by Eastern Media Limited, Bhubaneswar)
f) Prof K.R.Panigrahi is a member of the Expert Committee for the Socio-Cultural Restoration project for lower Indra Irrigation Project constituted by Govt. of Orissa.
g) Prof K.R.Panigrahi is a member of District Cultural Committee,Sambalpur.
h) Prof S.Mudali is a member of the Bharat Gyana Bigyan Samiti.
i) Prof. A.Sahoo was an executive member of Kendra Sahitya Academy and National Book Trust of India, Newdelhi.

a) The dept. has been undertaking research on famous oriya poet Gangadhar Meher and Bhima Bhoi, three scholars are working on the above topic.
b) Dr.P.Rath has undertaken a research project entitled ‘ The little known and unknown poets of western Orissa’.
c) Dr.P.Rath is working with Orissa State Resourse Centre, Bhubaneswar and collecting colloquial words of Western Orissa.
d) Prof. K.R.Panigrahi has been engaged in collecting folk tales , folk songs, proverbs of western Orissa and editing those collection to prepare manuscript pts for publication.
e) Four scholars are pursuing research under Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship scheme of the UGC
